Detailed Itinerary – Your Journey into Tanzania's Deepest Wilds
Day 1: Arrive in Katavi – Tanzania's Last Frontier
Fly into Katavi National Park (exact airstrip details TBC), a true wilderness offering unparalleled solitude.
Upon arrival, you'll be met by your Nomad guide and transferred to Chada Katavi.
Settle into your classic expeditionary tent under a shady canopy, overlooking the vast Chada Plain.
Afternoon game drive, beginning your exploration of Katavi's unique wildlife spectacles.

Day 2 & 3: Deep Exploration of Katavi – Untamed Encounters
Embark on daily safaris of discovery in this wild, remote park.
Activities include thrilling game drives in open 4WD vehicles, seeking out vast herds of buffalo, elephants, lions, leopards, and observing the unique dry season congregations of hippos and crocodiles.
Experience epic walking safaris, delving deeper into the bush on foot.

Day 4: Katavi to Mahale Mountains – Primates & Pristine Waters
Enjoy a final morning activity in Katavi, followed by breakfast.
Fly from Katavi National Park to Mahale Mountains National Park.
Upon arrival at the lakeshore, you'll be met by the Greystoke Mahale team and transferred to the camp.
Settle into your unique dhow-wood banda, with uninterrupted lake views.
Afternoon at leisure by Lake Tanganyika, or perhaps a gentle boat trip.

Day 5 & 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Lake Mahale Exploration
These days are dedicated to the primary quest: chimpanzee trekking on forest paths. Your expert guides will lead you to the habituated groups, allowing for incredibly privileged encounters with these fascinating primates.
Explore the phenomenal natural habitat of Lake Tanganyika:
Kayaking towards the Congo at sunrise.
Diving off the dhow into its gin-clear sunset waters.
Boat safaris to explore the lake's diverse life and see hippos.

Day 7: Farewell from Mahale
Enjoy a final early morning activity, perhaps a forest walk or a last moment by the lake.
Breakfast at Greystoke Mahale.
Transfer to the airstrip for your flight from Mahale National Park, heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey, filled with memories of Africa's most remote and profound encounters.
