Weather

Dry Season

  • The Dry Season is from June till October where there is not much rain and although it is winter the days are mostly clear, sunny and warm. It’s just at night when it can get colder so always pack light jackets and cardigans.

Wet Season

  • November and December are the short rains period which is just short sharp rains as a precursor to any substantial rains.

  • January and February sometimes bring a gap in the rainy season.

  • March, April and May are the wettest months known as the period of long rains when it rains most days making the vegetation is vibrantly green and lush.

Access

Location: Seraengeti National Park, Tanzania

  • The drive from Arusha to Serengeti Tortilis Camp is 335km and it takes 7 hours. Guests often like to stay at Lake Manyara Tortilis Camp or Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp for a night en route to Central Serengeti if they are travelling by road.

  • Daily scheduled flights from Arusha to Seronera Airstrip.
