Nairobi National Park: The City's Wild Heart (6:30 AM - 11:00 AM)
Our first stop is the iconic Nairobi National Park. Here, you’ll embark on a thrilling morning game drive, experiencing the incredible sight of wildlife like lions, giraffes, and zebras, all with the surprising backdrop of Nairobi's bustling city skyline. It's a surreal and breathtaking experience unique to this capital!
Remember: A valid passport is a must-carry for park entry!
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
Next, prepare for a heartwarming visit to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage. Witness the adorable orphaned baby elephants during their feeding time and learn about the vital conservation work being done to rescue and rehabilitate these gentle giants. It's a truly touching and inspiring experience.
Mat Bronze Foundry & Restaurant (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM)
After bidding farewell to the elephants, we head to Mat Bronze Foundry and Restaurant in Karen. Here, you'll enjoy a delicious lunch amidst stunning wildlife-inspired bronze sculptures. This unique location combines an art gallery showcasing intricate bronze works with the very foundry where these pieces are created.
Please note: Lunch is not included in the trip price and can be paid for directly at the restaurant with a card or Kenyan Shillings.
The Giraffe Centre (1:30 PM onwards)
Get ready for an iconic interaction! At The Giraffe Centre, you'll have the incredible chance to hand-feed these gentle giants from an elevated platform. Learn about their conservation and the efforts of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW). It's a truly memorable and up-close encounter.
Kazuri Beads Workshop (Approx. 2:30 PM)
Our journey continues to the Kazuri Beads Workshop, a truly inspiring social enterprise. Witness the intricate process of bead-making, from shaping the clay to hand-painting vibrant designs. This workshop employs and empowers local women, particularly single mothers, offering beautiful, handcrafted ceramic jewelry and pottery – perfect for meaningful souvenirs!
Ocean Sole Workshop (Approx. 3:30 PM)
Finally, we visit Ocean Sole, an incredible social enterprise that transforms discarded flip-flops collected from beaches into vibrant, unique art sculptures. You'll get a fascinating tour to see artisans at work and learn about their positive impact on marine conservation and local employment. It’s a powerful testament to creativity and sustainability.
Please note: While we strive for seamless experiences, on rare occasions, workshops like Ocean Sole may have unexpected closures due to operational reasons. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
